After you have added your domain name to your Plesk server and created or uploaded content the next step is updating your DNS to point to your Plesk server. When you setup DNS on a Plesk server there are three steps in the process.
Step 1: Creating a Zone File for your Domain Side Plesk
Plesk is helpful and automatically creates a zone file for any domain name you have setup inside your Plesk Panel. If you have already set up your domain name inside your Plesk Panel, you can skip this step. To create a Zone File for your Your Domain name inside Plesk you will follow the next few steps
Log into your Plesk Panel using the administrator
Under the Webspaces tab, click on “Add a Webspace.”
Complete the domain name form, and then click “OK”.
Step 2: Creating and Registering Your Domain Hosts
After you have set up your domain name and created a zone file inside Plesk, your next step is creating and registering two domain hosts specific to your domain. If your domain is registered with us, you can follow the article to setup DNS name servers. To setup your custom DNS name servers inside Plesk
Log into your Plesk control panel using the administrator login.
Click on the Hosting services section.
Inside the Hosting services section click on “Domains”.
Inside the domain page you will see a list of your domains hosted on the server. Click on the domain link of the site you are working on.
Inside the Websites & Domains tab click on “DNS Settings”
Click on the “Add Record” button.
Add the following records:You will preform this last step twice creating NS1 and NS2 custom DNS records inside your account.
Click on the “Add Record” button, and add the following record:You will preform this last step twice creating NS records for both of the custom DNS records you created inside your account.
Click on the “Update” icon.
Restart the DNS services inside Plesk allowing the changes you added to take full effect. To restart your name services look inside the Server Management section and click on “Tools & Settings”.
Inside the “Tools & Settings” menu click on the option “Services Management”.
Inside the Service Management page click on the square icon before the section “DNS Server”.
After you have selected DNS Server click on the “Restart” icon. Please remember before you click on this button that it may take a few minutes for the service to completely restart.
Setting up Your Domain Name Servers
Now that you have finished creating and registering your two name servers with in the DNS zone of your website, the next step is to update your domains name servers to point to your Plesk server.
