WordPress has become one of the most popular Content Management System with our customers and the developers are commonly finding new ways to extend its functionality beyond that of a typical blogging platform.
WordPress is easier to install and takes only around 15 to 20 minutes to install to your server and with the tutorial you will be able to install WordPress right away.
First check the compatibility of WordPress to the customer’s web server: versions (Most servers using Control Panel 6 & up can handle the newest version of WordPress.)
Once you have decided on a compatible version of WordPress, you can download it from WordPress.org
Unzip the WordPress files somewhere on your local machine and then upload them to your server using a FTP client. If you have questions about how to upload to using FTP review the article How to use Filezilla. Within your FTP client you have the ability to upload the WordPress files and sub folders to the root of the customer’s domain.
The WordPress zip should contain three folders and several files. The structure should look like this:
wp-admin/ wp-content/ wp-includes/ index.php license.txt readme.html wp-activate.php wp-app.php wp-blog-header.php wp-comments-post.php wp-config-sample.php wp-cron.php wp-links-opml.php wp-load.php wp-login.php wp-mail.php wp-pass.php wp-register.php wp-settings.php wp-signup.php wp-trackback.php xmlrpc.php
You are now ready to install WordPress! Follow these simple steps to complete the installation:
