How to Install osCommerce Using the EasyApps Collection

Within the EasyApps collection you have the ability to install the online store content management system known as osCommerce. Installing osCommerce is easy to do but there are several steps you will have take before the installation is complete.

Please remember that the version of osCommerce installed within the control panel may not be the most current version. After you have completed installing osCommerce from within the EasyApps collection it is recommended that you review for updating assistance.

How to install osCommerce from within the EasyApps collection

  • In your hosting control panel click on the EasyApps collection within the “WebServer” row.oscommerce-001
  • Within the EasyApps collection window click on icon titled “osCommerce” to open the osCommerce install window.oscommerce-002
  • Under the osCommerce installation window click on the blue “Install” link located below the osCommerce installation details.oscommerce-003
  • To complete the osCommerce installation you will need to provide first the domain you wish to install osCommerce to. If you have multiple domains hosted within your account you will have to select the domain from within the drop down list in the “Domain” selection.oscommerce-004
  • After selecting the domain you wish to install osCommerce on you will have to select the correct directory path. The directory path cannot be the root of your domain but must be listed within a folder in your domain. Proper formatting would need to be “/(name)”. If the “/” is not listed your control panel will display a red “!” next to the text box.oscommerce-005
  • With the correct directory path selected check that you agree to the terms of service regarding installing osCommerce within your account.oscommerce-006
  • With all information completed within the osCommerce setup screen click on the “Submit” icon.oscommerce-007After clicking on the submit button you will be redirected back to the EasyApps collection window. Within the center of the page you will see that success message providing you a link to reach your online store. Before you leave this page we need to create a Admin username to allow access to the osCommerce admin page.
  • In the EasyApps collection window click once again on the link labeled “osCommerce”. Now the link also displays “(1)” showing you that osCommerce has been installed at some point. If you have multiple osCommerce installations this number will read differently depending on the number of installations.oscommerce-008
  • After clicking on the osCommerce link you will be directed to the osCommerce installation page once again. This time you will see a row displaying where your osCommerce has been installed to. Within this row click on the magnifying glass to open the admin panel of osCommerce.oscommerce-009
  • You will see the osCommerce admin login screen but it’s a little different then normal. Within this screen you will need to create a username and login to access your osCommerce control panel. Within the “Username” text box enter the admin username you wish to use to access your control panel.oscommerce-010
  • After entering your Username enter the password you wish to use to access your osCommerce control panel.oscommerce-011
  • Once you have entered your username and password and verified the information is correct click on the “Create Administrator” icon. oscommerce-012
  • After clicking on the “Create Administrator” icon you will directed to the login screen. Within this screen you have the ability to use your username and password to log into the osCommerce control panel.oscommerce-013With your information entered click on the “Login” icon you will be directed to the osCommerce control panel.oscommerce-014
